This elegant silverplate spoon holder dates to the early 20th century, a period when even utilitarian tableware was thoughtfully designed. Modelled after classical loving cups, spoon holders like this were traditionally placed on the table or sideboard to rest serving spoons between courses - combining practicality with decorative appeal.
